What are PFAS?
PFAS (poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances) is a collective name for a group of more than 6,000 man-made chemicals, including PTFE and PFOA. They are used to make everyday items water, grease, and dirt repellent. Examples include certain types of raincoats, food packaging, cosmetics, firefighting foam, and cookware with a traditional non-stick coating. PFAS are extremely strong and break down very slowly. Some will only disappear completely after 1,000 years. That is why they have been nicknamed ‘forever chemicals’.

Tested for performance
We know what affects the performance of ceramic non-stick coatings in real life and have developed various in-house test methods to evaluate the performance of our coating. Since the start of GreenPan we have continuously worked on development to improve the non-stick coating performance. The various generations of our coating have all been tested and can as such be compared.
